Sisterlocks is a trademark company founded in 1993 by Dr. JoAnne Cornwell. Sisterlocks invites women to embrace a natural hair care system that is self-affirming and truly gorgeous. The company motto says it all: “Sisterlocks is not about a hairstyle, it’s about a lifestyle.”
Sisterlocks™ is designed for highly textured hair. This system uses the natural hair quality to produce small ‘locks’ that can be styled in the same ways as chemically relaxed or curled hair. Sisterlocks™ involves no chemicals to be added to the hair. It does not involve extensions or attachments. Instead, it is a technique to create discrete locks.

Since the ‘Natural’ or the ‘Afro’ of the 1960’s, there have been few major styling innovations for women with highly textured hair. Nearly all styles involve covering up or chemically altering the natural texture. Now Sisterlocks™ gives a new range of natural beauty option to the women who wish be natural (again).

Sisterlocks™ does not alter the hair chemically, therefore has none of the negative side effects of relaxers or curly, such as weakened hair, problem ends, discoloration, hair loss, allergic reactions, chemical burns, limited hair growth potential.
Sisterlocks™ does not have to be undone in order to be tightened. There is no abrasion or loss of hair around the edges as with extensions. Furthermore, there is never any unsightly disruption in the texture of the locks as your natural hair grows out.

A: "The initial locking process takes about two thirds as long as getting extensions of comparable size. For medium length hair this means about eight to twelve hours (maybe longer!). The beauty of Sisterlocks™ is that tightening them as your hair grows out is extremely simple, since there are no extensions to remove and re-set".

1. The Sisterlocks™ Consultation
2. The Locking Session (may be divided into two to reduce client's sitting time).
3. The follow-up retightening session (generally done after 2 shampooing (s) or so).

- Come to your appointment with your hair clean.
- Do NOT blow dry or straighten your hair in any way.

YOUR HAIR SHOULD BE CLEAN AND FREE OF ANY PRODUCTS PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR APPOINTMENT IS SCHEDULED FOR A SUITABLE TIME, ADVANCED NOTICE MUST BE GIVEN WITHIN 24 HOURS FOR ALL CANCELLATIONS.

Sisterlocks Retightening up to 8 weeks, first 3 hours is $185 then $48 hourly thereafter. NOT INCLUDE WASHING AND STYLING.
9 weeks or more, $215 first 3 hours then $55 hourly thereafter.
